Meet Tara A. Valiquette, DMD
Dr. Tara A. Valiquette joined the staff of Union Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center in June 2011 and has become a valued asset to the practice.
Dr. Valiquette grew up in Ontario, Canada. She calls North Carolina her second home as her family moved to Raleigh in 1999.
She completed her undergraduate training with a Bachelor of Science degree from Queens University (Canada) in 2003 and obtained her dental degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2007. She completed a full scope residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of North Carolina in 2011. She has received several awards during her training including the Veteran’s Affairs Dental Service Certificate of Appreciation in 2008, Professional and Academic Achievement Award in 2006, and Horace Wells Award in 2006. Her interests include dento-alveolar, pre-prosthetic, implantology, facial trauma, and orthognathic surgery.
She is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Monroe Rotary Club. Dr. Valiquette is currently on the medical staff at CMC-Union.
Dr. Valiquette and her husband, Blake, live in Mint Hill, NC with their English bulldog, Moose. They are avid supporters of the Carolina Hurricanes. Her parents and brother continue to live in Raleigh, NC. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, golf, and reading. She is also a fan of American muscle cars.
Dr. Valiquette sees patients at both our Monroe and Mint Hill offices. She is dedicated to working to provide the very best comfort and care for her patients. Her recent residency gives her the latest knowledge in the treatment of patients and in the use of technology for oral and maxillofacial surgery.
